The miracle of the sock
Einstein sagt: “Wozu Socken? Sie schaffen nur Löcher”
Einstein says: “Why wear socks? They only get holes in them.”
…oh yes, and they disappear in the big black hole of the washing machine. But never in pairs. Just one of them. Einstein is absolutely right. Socks are utterly dispensable, be cause sooner or later, the big toe or the heel breaks through, and then they are not only useless but a real nuisance, as it hurts after the big toe has broken ground. There is hardly any other part of clothing one has to replace as often as socks. And it does not help to buy the expensive ones, because they are threadbare just as quickly as the cheap ones. Sometimes faster. So, as Einstein, who never wore socks, not even in the White House, concluded: “Why wear both socks and shoes when one of them would do just fine?” So socks, or no socks? And where does the second sock disappear to in the washing machine? And is there anything else in your life that you feel to be utterly dispensable? Really „socking“ questions….
…genau.
